The network "Communication-Scientific Memory Research" helps to establish a communication-scientific perspective of memory and memory research in interdisciplinary discourse and to strengthen the subject of memory in the subject.

The aim of the network is to process and further develop memory and memory research in communication studies in terms of their fundamentals, their fields of work and their perspectives.

To this end, the network supports cross-location, topic-related cooperation. In the period from 2018 to 2021, the examination of cultural memory and social remembering, which takes place in different areas of communication research and media analysis, will be viewed, compared and documented as elements of communication science research on memory and remembrance. The interdisciplinary exchange with other social and cultural science disciplines from an international perspective is an important part of the network.

The scientific network is funded by the German Research Foundation (PE 2436 / 1-1). It is coordinated by Christian Pentzold, University of Leipzig, and Christine Lohmeier, University of Salzburg. More about the network here: www.memoryandmedia.net
