Abstract

Since 2013, Charmaine Voigt researches the impact of college media on journalism education within her PhD. Furthermore, her research fields include digital journalism, media ethics and film studies. She teaches practical film skills at several higher education instutions. Recently, she started working for the interdisciplinary research project "competence cluster for nutrition and cardiovascular health - nutriCARD" with the focus on nutrition communication.

The teaching focuses on media studies and practice. In doing so, she pursues an activating teaching style with the aim of providing insights into the various professional fields of communication and media studies. Regardless of the focus on content, meta-skills such as teamwork, time management and scientific working methods are also taught. Her teaching has an international approach. In every class, she communicates a transparent expectation to the learners.
