Abstract
Andreas Gelhard is Professor of Social Philosophy and Philosophy of Education at the University of Leipzig. From 2001-2023 he taught philosophy at the universities of Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Vienna, Bonn and at the PH Karlsruhe. From 2007-2009 he worked as a science editor at Suhrkamp Verlag, and from 2009-2014 he was Scientific Director of the Forum for Interdisciplinary Research at the TU Darmstadt.

His research focuses on skepticism and dialectics, social philosophy and political philosophy, educational theory, and the history of examination practices. He has worked extensively on Kant, Hegel, and 20th century French philosophy (Blanchot, Foucault, Levinas, Rancière).
