Abstract

Antonia Mielke Möglich is a scientific assistant at the Chair of Communication Science under Prof. Dr. Patrick Donges at the Department of Communication and Media Science, University of Leipzig.

Focus points in teaching and research are Sustainability Science, Communication for Social Change as well as the topics "social sustainability", "intersectional inequalities" and "education for sustainable development".

In her dissertation, she deals with the academic field of sustainability communication, creating an overview of the actors and public spheres (public arenas) that are being focused on in research. The aim of the dissertation is to reflect the inherent understandings of sustainability that are explicitly or implicitly being used in the field.

Antonia Mielke Möglich is an associated member of the research center "Entwicklungskommunikation - Communication for Social Change" and a representative of the institute's academic mid-level.

  • Qualitative Data Collection Using a 'Restorative Circle' (Bachelor)

The seminar provides a theoretical and practical introduction to qualitative empirical data collection. Research groups with various specializations will be formed in the seminar to deepen a chosen method for scientifically accompanying a restorative circle on the topic of climate change. The seminar includes designing and implementing individual data collection using a self-selected qualitative research method.

  • Media and Public in Times of Convergence and Digitization (Master)

Media are not merely technical artifacts, but rather social organizations embedded within economic, political, social, and cultural contexts, exerting an influence on these domains. The transformation of media systems through processes of digitization and technical convergence consequently affects not only the market of economic actors and individual media outlets but also sociocultural reality construction, cultural practices, and societal knowledge processes.

  • Climate and Sustainability Communication (Bachelor)

This seminar is about the scientific fields around climate change and sustainability as well as the variety of (non-scientific) actors in that field. According to the superordinate module on media reception and media impact, the seminar looks upon psychological phenomena and effects that are being researched in that field.

  • Preparatory Course (Bachelor)

    Preparatory course in scientific work.
