Abstract

Rebekka Haubold is Research Assistant in the BMBF-funded project "PraxisdigitaliS - Praxis digital gestalten in Sachsen" at the Centre for Teacher's Education and School Research (ZLS).


Her current research and teaching focuses on media appropriation, media-didactics, intergenerational media pedagogy and qualitative research methods. In her doctoral thesis, Rebekka Haubold works on the contexts of digital media appropriation of adults.

Rebekka Haubold was research associate at the Department of Media Literacy and Media Appropriation of the Institute of Communication and Media Studies. She studied communication and media science (BA and MA) with focus on media education and media pedagogy.

She leads the intergenerational project "Medienclub Leipziger Löwen".

She is member of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), the German Educational Research Association (GERA) and the Association for Media Education and Communication Culture (German: GMK).

The teaching profile of Rebekka Haubold serves an analysis of media theory and encourages education about theoretical terms and basic concepts to media education. Furthermore, the opportunities and risks of (new) media towards media users are going to be evaluated.

The profile also reaches the Media's significance in educational processes, whereby media socialization, media literacy, media appropriation and media didactics are focussed.

Beyond that, the teaching profile adresses the issue of media based construction of social reality. In addition, media educational institutions and organizations are taken in account.
