In my dissertation project I dealed with creative practices as the subject of a multidimensional governance. The focus of consideration was on the endogenous and exogenous understanding of formal and informal rules of creative practices in social communities of practice. The field of the free performing arts in Saxony was examined as an example.

My further scientific interest relates to questions, challenges and approaches of science and research ethics and their significance for communication science. The focus is in particular on the implementation of ethical considerations in empirical analysis and methodological teaching.

My empirical focus is especially on qualitative social scientific methods to reconstruct contexts of meaning such as interviews, observations and group discussions as well as discourse-analytical approaches.

In my teaching activities at the university I focus on cross-media journalistic basics, forms, working methods and formats.

The subject of my teaching are beyond that qualitative empirical methods for the investigation of communication science issues. The students should be enabled to conceive and critically reflect on empirical research projects. Also the focus of the courses was on dealing with science and research ethics as a specific aspect of critical thinking and its significance for communication science. Furthermore, communicative processes of understanding as well as phenomena of the media system and media change were the subject of my teaching.
