Abstract
Daniel Schmidt is research assistant in the area Political Theory and Democracy Research. His research and teaching deals with questions of Political Anthropology, modern statehood, and the emergence of relations of power and knowledge during the past 200 years.
From 2003 to 2010 Daniel Schmidt was the faculty's equal opportunities officer, from 2006 to 2009 vice equal opportunities officer and in 2010 central equal opportunities officer of the University.
From 2006 to 2011 he coordinated the University's Research Area "Contested Orders". Beyond research and teaching he is responsible for the coordination of the institute's study programmes, student advice and Erasmus coordination.
In 2014 he was awarded with the Theodor Litt Award for outstanding teaching engagement.
