As part of their work for the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom in Leipzig, European Studies students Annkathrin Pohl and Jessica Dutz, together with Martin Hoffmann, published the study "Feindbild Journalist:in 7" ("Journalists as enemies"). The study mainly focusses on assaults on journalists in Germany during around demonstrations against COVID-19 measures since 2020.
The ECPMF in Leipzig is a non-profit organisation and has been monitoring the situation of media freedom in Europe and its threat from since 2015. In the past years, many GESI students have already completed internships or worked as working students.
