The course catalog is published about six weeks before the start of the upcoming semester. It contains detailed information about the modules, courses, and elective areas that will be available in the upcoming semester.

Annotated course catalog

The course catalog is essential for organizing your curriculum. It includes all the necessary information about the courses, such as

  • module affiliation,
  • participation requirements,
  • type of examination and credit points,
  • details of the person teaching or responsible for the module,
  • course type, title, and description, the schedule and start date of the first course.

You can download the current annotated course catalog as a PDF file from the download link in the sidebar. Please note that if you use the PDF file to organize your studies, ensure that you have the latest version and take note of the version indicated in the file name and heading. Changes or corrections are typically not made at the beginning of the lecture period. The campus management system, AlmaWeb , provides an online course catalog without detailed descriptions.

Module registration/enrollment

To register for a module, use the online enrollment system TOOL. You can find all information about the registration procedure on the website of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Philosophy. If you have general questions about your studies, please contact the Student Advisory Service of the Department of Sociology Student Advisory Service of the Institute or the Helpdesk provided by the Faculty's Student Office.
