In my PhD thesis, I investigate whether students of varying socio-economic status (SES) differ with respect to their social embeddedness. That is, do students of different social backgrounds form friendships in school in a way that High-SES students can access other resources (e.g., information, motivation, values) than students of low SES? In a second step, I investigate whether this has an effect on educational inequalities. The thesis is part of the project SERIOUS, led by Dr. Georg Lorenz.
